I'm a huge fan of Nedroid Comics and I have a bit of a hero worship problem, so I had to email something to Anthony Clark. Sally sketched out some possible gene sequences that could result in Beartato and I tried to mimick Anthony Clark's style. Here's the text Sally wrote to accompany it in case you're a biology geek:

A bear, who is heterozygous for a jaw, is homozygous for fangs, teeth, ears, a muzzle, fur, and legs. It mates with a potato homozygous for no jaw, no teeth, no ears, no muzzle, no legs, and heterozygous for skin. If the genes for fangs and no teeth are codominant, producing round teeth, and the genes for legs and no legs are codominant, producing stick-like extremities with malformed fingers, label the genotypes of the parents and offspring under the correct phenotype.
